Southern Highlands Real Estate Shows Strong January Finish

Welcome back to the weekly update — our quick catch up on what has been happening in the property market.

As we head into the first long weekend of 2026, buyer activity was slow to get going early in the year, however, January has finished strong for us at Harpers with two transactions successfully exchanged this week.

17 Watkins Drive, a one-acre property set within the highly sought-after Farnborough Estate sold quickly. The location continues to attract strong demand from buyers wanting proximity to Tudor House and Moss Vale High School.

We also achieved an exceptional result at 247 Nowra Road, a tightly held small acreage property with equine facilities. This property forms part of the original Manager’s College of the historic Kahlua homestead and sits on a rare five-acre concession lot surrounded by established local farms.

Buyer interest remains extremely strong in this segment due to the ongoing shortage of comparable stock across the Southern Highlands.

Both buyers are thrilled to have secured their new homes, and Jacob McKinnon and the Harpers team — Ania McKinnon, Cameron MacLean and Jess Waters — are confident we’ll see an increase in transactions over the coming weeks as momentum builds toward the end of Q1 2026.
